South Peninsula Hospital Addition

Blazy Construction was the prime contractor for this two-story steel structure, 16,800 square foot addition to the South Peninsula Hospital located in Homer.

When this project bid it came out $250,000 over budget. The borough requested that Blazy Construction (low bidder) work with them to value engineer certain aspects of the project. With a collaborative effort between the owner, the designers, subcontractors, suppliers and Blazy we were able to bring this project with-in budget.

Blazy’s Role:  Prime Contractor

Construction Budget:  $5,035,996

Construction Period:  August 1999 – 2000

Delivery Method:  Competitive Bid

Owner: Wayne Aderhold, Kenai Peninsula Borough Public Works Project Manager

The firm’s pleasant demeanor and vast experience of having constructed a wide variety of projects makes this firm a strong contender as a team member for both competitive bid and design/build projects.
