Alyeska Resort Howitzer Storage No. 1 – Girdwood, AK

The Alyeska Resort Howitzer Storage project consisted of a two story storage facility to house one of the main artillery guns to set off avalanches at the resort. This includes upgraded structural elements needed consisting of heavy concrete walls for the basement portion of the project as well as structural steel/engineered wood combination for the upper structural support. The design had to incorporate the load from the gun being fired from the upper floor in the storage building.
